CHOOSING YOUR PERFECT GUN!

When it comes to choosing your airsoft gun there is no perfect algorythm. We at Korhaven like to see everyone have fun and succeed by playing their best. We also hate to see someone's day end because of a weapon malfunction or breakdown. Below are some helpful tips as well as some great brands we highly reccommend at Korhaven!

1. You need to start with a budget. If you have lots of cash and dont care then buy whatever gun looks the coolest and when it breaks buy another.

2. For those of us not loaded with cash determine how much you are willing to spend and what propellant before you start searching.

3. Next find what style gun suits your needs. Longer guns are great for farther distance and more accurate shooting. Short guns are great for CQB and high speed playing where accuracy is not as important.

3. Next you want to look into the internals and material your gun is made out of. Metal is recommended but can get heavy. Plastic is much lighter but can be fragile.

4. Check the fps and rules for the course you will be playing on and find an fps that suits your needs.

5. Another important thing to check on is what spare parts you can buy in case things break down. Can you put different sights on the gun and can you buy spare magazines?

6. Finally check the reviews to see what other people say about it. Watch some youtube videos or ask your fellow airsoft friends what they recommend.

There are lots of great airsoft websites to choose from. We at Korhaven use Evike.com most often and below are some great brands we love at Korhaven!

Lets start with some terminology you may not know.

1. Feet per second or FPS refers to the speed bb's come out of your airsoft gun.

2. Airsoft guns shoot 6mm bb's. Anything other than 6mm plastic bb's are not allowed and are dangerous to shoot at people.

3. Types of airsoft guns include: spring powered, gas powered i.e. co2, compressed air, green gas, or other types, and AEG (automatic electric gun)

4. Eye pro (eye protection) must be full seal, meaning that nothing can get between the seal of the glasses and your head.

5. Gearbox is the internal components that fire an AEG airsoft gun.

6.Chronograph or chrono is the device used to measure the fps of airsoft guns before allowing the player to use that gun in an airsoft battle.
